Last Apollo (a.k.a. Lucy Rice) is an Irish artist and composer. Immediately touted “One to Watch” by leading Irish music critics after the release of her EP (Ordinary Matter), she has spent the last three years refining her sound through extensive performing in Ireland, the UK and Europe. Now, Last Apollo has returned to the studio with her ambitious and moving album I’ll Walk Towards You recorded with the help of her long-time collaborators and friends alongside live-engineer and producer Sergio Maschetzko (Black Country New Road, Black Midi, The Last Dinner Party). The work is a result of years of refinement, capturing a historic heart-break in ember and holding it up to the light. The deeply personal album is an act of extraordinary bravery and musical grace. As always, the work is reflective of Lucy’s ability to deftly capture the depth of a fundamentally inexpressible human heart. Unconcerned by the boundaries of genre and form, Last Apollo borrows from the worlds of rock, folk and pop music to sew together sonic tapestries in which dreamlike images shift and alternate around a molten emotional core.
